Focus @ SRI:
Business development in Japanese markets in the fields of physical sciences and biomedical sciences
Day in the Life @ SRI:
I listen to clients in Japan and communicate with SRI in Menlo Park to determine how SRI could help clients achieve their business goals better and faster through sponsored R&D projects, technology licensing, and partnership programs. On a daily basis, I visit, phone, and correspond with clients and with colleagues at SRI. I also plan, coordinate, and present at three or four tradeshows a year.
Before SRI:
I worked for the R&D Department of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, as a liaison person in academic-industrial alliances, main administrative staff for the hiring of contract researchers, and manager of the R&D Internship program.
Academics:
BS in Biology, University of Tsukuba
Why SRI?
SRI is a unique group of talented people from different disciplines who can work alone as a professional, or work in a team, to create value for the client while adding to SRI's technology platform. There are so many interesting things going on at SRI.
Inspiration and Motivation:
Every day is a learning opportunity. The feedback and encouragement from colleagues and clients help me move a step ahead.
Away from the Office:
I spend time with my family and friends. I like to walk in the woods and in towns that I have never visited before. There are many interesting places to visit in Japan!
Languages:
Japanese, English, Spanish
Proudest Professional Accomplishment:
My first project at SRI. I contributed substantially to launching the project, and now I am playing my part to lead it to success by helping with SRI-client communications.
