Join Our Team of Innovators

Do you share our pioneering spirit? Join a company with over a half-century of firsts, from the first electronic banking system to invention of the computer mouse and other foundations of personal computing. With a vision to make every machine smarter, SRI tackles fundamental issues in computer security, privacy, intelligence, reliability and scalability. Our world-renowned computing sciences researchers create the tools and methods for building, assessing, and protecting the systems on which the world depends.

SRI strives to understand the computational principles underlying intelligence in humans and machines to help solve problems. Research areas include computer logic and analysis, artificial intelligence, imaging and machine vision, speech and natural language technology, and cyber security.

SRI pushes the boundaries of computing through new methods for distributing information processing, computer logic, and formal verification of computer systems. Become a member of our computing team and build efficient tools for rigorous mechanical analysis, work in the world's leading AI research center, or discover innovative ways to help SRI meet the growing need to defend the computer systems upon which the government and businesses rely.

SRI's computing innovations include

  • Formal methods: SRI's Formal Methods Program is the world leader in the formal verification of mission-critical computer systems.
  • Artificial intelligence: In the 1960s, SRI's pioneering AI Center developed Shakey, the first mobile robot with the ability to reason about its surroundings. Today, the Center is developing advanced solutions in cognitive computing, bioinformatics, computer vision, and more.
  • Speech technology: SRI's speech recognition software formed the core technology of SRI spin-off Nuance Communications, today's market leader. SRI speech technology is used in language education software in Japan, the U.S., and other countries, and is incorporated into SRI's IraqComm™ two-way translation system.
