Our innovations for clients around the world include

• Electroactive polymer "artificial muscle": SRI's patented material for high-energy-density actuation powerfully contracts and expands when subjected to electricity, resulting in smaller, quieter and more efficient products. SRI spun off Artificial Muscle, Inc. to bring this technology to market.
• Organic electronics: Our interdisciplinary approach in this area gives us a unique understanding of how molecular structures relate to physical properties, which facilitates the development of innovative client solutions. For example, our synthetic chemists and device engineers have worked together to develop several new organic light-emitting device (OLED) materials.
