Keith Laderoute, Ph.D., runs SRI’s Cancer Biology Program, which works with government agencies and industry to research and solve specific problems in oncology. He oversees research funded by the National Institutes of Health, including the National Cancer Institute. Current areas of research include the contribution of metabolic regulators to solid tumor development, metabolic responses of tumor cells to cytotoxic/cytostatic small molecules (e.g., nuclear hormone receptor ligands), tumor hypoxia, regulation of tumor cell energy metabolism, and computational methods to represent and analyze signaling systems involved in cell proliferation, survival and differentiation.
As a cancer biologist with 20 years experience, Dr. Laderoute has served as an NIH reviewer, is a member of several professional organizations, and is a reviewer for various professional journals. He has authored or co-authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals concerned with basic cancer biology and translational research. He is a co-inventor on four issued patents.
Dr. Laderoute received his M.S. and Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Toronto. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the physics division of the Ontario Cancer Institute and was a research associate in the biology division of the National Research Council of Canada.
