SRI's techniques can be used to speed up the synthesis, screening, and development of new catalysts for chemical processes. This high-throughput synthesis and screening of catalysts enables companies to drastically reduce the time required for development and, at the same time, allows for the chance discovery of new combinations.

SRI has designed a phased approach to accelerated catalyst development to (1) identify hits, and (2) convert hits into leads and candidates. This unique approach enables SRI to rapidly move new catalysts as far as possible down the development chain using high throughput techniques.
